Default Striaght Pipes on friends car (Test Drive)

So one of my Mustang buddys broght his car over to Mustang Works or somthing with a name like that in ft. lauderdale. He put on hooker headers, hooker X pipe, SLP loud mouths, steeda cold air intake, and a tri-ax. He let me take it around town for about 15 minutes and to tell you the truth it wasn't all that I expected it to be. First of all it sounded like an 18 wheeler at idle, it was so low and booming it echoed all over the place. They I drove it and from the first to secong gear shift it sounded like there was change in sound at all. It was a constant rumble. In my opinion it sounded decent at first but that it just sounded like a bunch of noise. It kind of sounded like my good friends Busch car. Now to the dissapointing part. The tri- ax was really stiff, it was so stiff that I would probably not put it in my own car. It felt nice for a couple "pedal to the metal runs," but driving around my neighborhood it was so hard to shift when you weren't yanking the thing. The really sad part was it felt really slow. The car felt like it was a whole bunch of noise and no go. My friends 04 GT felt faster than this car. I am thinking that the car might be all messed up because he dosn't have a tune, but has all of this really high flow -stuff done to his car. I bet it is running to lean, it smelt real funny to, even at idle. I don't want my car to drive like that, I thought the 2005 Mustang GT would be faster than that, but maybe it was just because he had the wrong work done to his car. On a MUCH happier not, my salesmen just notified me that my car has arrieved in Florida and is expected to be at the dealer before Saterday. Modifications that I plan to do are Steeda axle-back exhaust (I think made by Borla) and Steeda sport springs.

They even say it when you call steeda.
They say to have the screw BARELY touching the washer.

from what I've read on various forums, mods like that need to be tuned. I'm sure it would feel close to stock if he added only one mod, but with multiple intake and exhuast mods, and the computer is still running the stock program, it's no wonder the car is driving the way it is...

And I think newer cars put up better numbers with SOME backpressure. I guess his tune and dyno numbers will tell the whole story!

he needs a tune BAD! that's alot of mods for one of these new cars without a tune. He definitely needs at least the A/F ratio adjusted.
