The track is alot different than the street. You will probably get there and spin all of first.

Sure is fun paying around with it isn't it?

A well prepped track allows the car more traction then the street.....

I seen a GT w/intake and tune, possibly headers have a horrid time trying to launch it right. He ran 15.5s all night burning out off the line-3rd gear. Finally got it down to 14.2 by the end of the night, by that point he wasn't as fast and furious off the line, looked more like a slight slip of the clutch with enough gas. Kinda felt bad for him at first, but he eventually got it.. track prep was virtually non-existent on that day as with most our days (T&T)

oh wow, thats too bad for him. i'd be discouraged as hell to have that happen to me. i've only been to one track, and it was when i watched my friends dad run his '68 barracuda down the 1/4. i think prep was alright that day, it was a hot summer day though so times were a bit off

Wow thats good numbers. thats like the current 2011 GT getting mid 4 second 0-60.

I have a 2006 Mustang gt auto stock. I do think the 2005-09 Mustangs are underrated by many saying its slow. In my car once you floor it it picks up speed in a hurry.

I have not driven the 2011 Mustang gt. I'm sure it has to be a beast with 112 more horsepower and tons more torque.

The track is "supposed" to have more traction than the street, however, most the nights we get to race there, they don't have adequate track prep at all and you'll spin like crazy compared to the street.

Most street "runs" are on torn up asphalt or concrete, and the asphalt gives much better traction than the strips surfaces. Just my experience...

Well prepped usually doesn't happen at nights where they do street legal nights. When there is a points race, the track will be really good.

Almost any track, prepped or not, is going to have more traction than the street. But, for those who haven't gone to the track, launching is very different and tricky.

lol when mine was pure stock it certainly "felt" slow..

intake/tune, gears, headers dropped it down to a consistent 13.3s all day.

I was getting slaughtered on the street when I was stock, pretty much. Especially with the stock tune and 3.31s.

one goal: thanks man i really appreciate it, i was very happy with the end results but in all reality i would get slaughtered by a 2011 gt lol. and i do agree, these cars are underrated from the factory, i read somewhere that a stock one in a magazine made 272 rwhp which is like 320 crank, so we know that they all make a little more than advertised thanks to the '99 cobra.

drewsky: i slipped the clutch at around 3k rpm, and this really helped minimized wheelspin as it jumped up to 30 relatively quickly. keep messin around til you find a sweet spot for launching, i haven't gotten to do any launching since around may (when i filmed this video) because its been about 100 F everyday here.
