2010 will be nice for the "new" factor...and that 6 speed stick (if you get a manual)

but it will suck majorly in the power department. if you have issues currently, take it to a Speed shop and have them look it over. You don't have to specialize in Mustangs/Ford to be able to diagnose and correct common issues.

As for the tuning, contact Tillman/Brenspeed/Bama with a list of all mods you know are installed. They can send you very safe tunes that will most likely correct your issues...but only do this after you take care of any mechanical issues.

A vacuum leak can cause many weird and scary symptoms. The high idle is a tune issue. Between your high altitude (Colorado) and the cold weather, you need to correct any issues immediately. You are a ticking time bomb for the motor to go boom IMO.

I'd keep the 2006 personally.

I guess styling is subjective but the interior is a huge upgrade. If you crunch the numbers and it makes sense, go for it. There are good deals to be had.

What is the good deal to be had if the 06 is almost paid off? I do not understand this, is it worth paying a note for some minor interior changes for less power. Someone please explain this, for a car with less than 20k miles on it.

If you were talking about the 2011 5.0, I'd say it's probably worth the additional expense you will take on with buying a new car, but I don't think so much for the 2010...but I can understand you wanting piece of mind, and that, you can not put a price on, so if it's something you really want and you are good with all the numbers, do it.
