Default Trading in my 2006 GT S/C

Wondering if I will have regrets going from a super charged 2006 to a stock 2010. I do plan on a tune and CAI shortly after I take delivery. Getting a pretty good deal on the 2010 GT with rebates and my A plan and the 2011 is just too expensive.

I could understand that you want a newer car. It makes sense to me, but I chose my 09 over a '10 because i dont like the rear end look of the new stangs etc.....and the radio is not changeable lol but if you want something new again and have the money, do it

The 2010 is an upgrade in every way over the 05-09's (looks are subjective people) HOWEVER, the only real notable upgrades are the interior and the handling. Stock it has a little more power, but nothing worth righting home about. If i were you, I'd consider an eleven with a tune and some minor boltons. I don't know if you want fully loaded or not, but a no option manual 11 isn't too bad if you get the a plan for it.

I bought the 2006 in June of 2009 with the super charger already installed. It's a daily driver and with 500 HP I am concerned about the life of the engine. It seems to run pretty hot and the tune on it is somewhat suspect. When I cold start it the car revs (idles) at about 2800 RPM for about 30 seconds unless I put it in gear. I have yet to find a good shop for modded Mustangs in Southern Colorado and believe me I have looked. Just looking for the piece of mind of a new car with full warranty and concerned that I am moments away from a blown engine. I have yet to hit 17K on the odo but there are some tell tail signs that trouble is just around the corner.

Well what you are describing could very well be a very minor problem (such as checking your vacuum hoses for leaks. Look at the driver side vacuum lines!! If you have a catch can make sure you have unbendable (non-collapsible hoses) stockers are made from thermal hard plastic. If they have been replaced with anything other than a steel braided hose they collapse and cause the problem you are describing. I bet you get the same stuck 2800 rpm after a hard run or after been stuck in traffic for a while.

My car has the blower for almost as many miles as your car has in total (11000 mile blown, 48000 miles total). No issues. You have to know you car if it is modified. There are always minor issues (some not so minor but you have to neglect it a lot for this happen or beat it a lot) so you have to keep an ear out for what your car tells you. If you cannot figure it out by yourself ask the forum.... you will be amazed from the solutions you find.

Seems a lot wiser to fix the car you have because the issue doesn't seem that bad, I think the 2010 will be a let down with you missing the extra power. You could also have the car detuned some if you feel 500hp is too much. This may mean some driving to get the car fixed but in the long run it will be a lot cheaper than having a note.

If you do have to buy a new one which I wouldn't recommend I would not buy the 2010 by the 2011, it just makes sense.
