cheepee x-pipe worth it

I just pulled the hammer on some GTB's >>> is it worth getting the x-pipe with it - just the cheapee one off of eBay?? http://cgi.ebay.ca/05-09-Ford-Mustan...#ht_6791wt_760 ................ TIA

it looks alright, see how it goes. it seems to be a good deal, if it sounds good and you like it you know you made the right decision.

Did you notice they are charging you more for shipping then the price of the x pipe.

Rubrignitz 08-09-2010 09:56 PM

no kidding. just get the whole pipe, no cutting. http://cgi.ebay.ca/Exhaust-X-Pipe-Do...item519406587f

Some state that the X-pipe adds some raspyness. Regardless, you won't gain any noticeable performance. Even if it's 2-3 RWHP (and I may be optimistic), you can't distinguish the gain from the variance from pull to pull on a dyno.

the x-pipe would be strictly for sound - to get the actual sound of the Bullitt. I wish I could have bought a louder muffler combo, (there's a mid-muffler on CL for 4 $250 :icon_sad:) but I leave early in the morning and don't wanna piss anyone off - I figured this would be my best route with the GTB's and I have a "cash guy" to do sum exhaust work so cutting out the H and replace with an X shouldn't be too costly

That looks a lot like the FRPP x pipe. All I can say is good luck with the install, I never got mine on correctly so I bought another brand for a hassle free install.

Let us know how the track times go, very interested in how your set up does on some DRs.

I am going to the track on Aug 21, so I should have new times soon. But we expect it to be hot and humid as hell so I don't know how the times will look. But I expect to get a good time in October when it's a bit cooler.
