a lot of it is personal preferance man, Some require a tune, others dont, If your going to get a tune, then get one that needs it as your doing that anyways. If you want looks, there is some companies that make sick looking, but not so well performing intakes, and if your just lookin for the power, they are all so close its hard to tell, IMO, dont spend the extra 100 dollars for the extra 2 or 3 HP claimed, go with a tried and proven one, like FIPK from K&N or the C&L etc...

Best is a 4-letter word.

Best price? Best looks? If you're asking performance then all of the no-tune required CAI's are equivalent to one another but not quite as good as all of the tune-required CAI's which are also equivalent to one another. A stand-alone CAI on these engines is good for about 4-6 RWHP. A stand-alone tune on these engines is good for about 15-20 RWHP. A CAI & custom tune combo is good for 25 or more RWHP. There. The math has been done for you. Now go call Brenspeed or AM and get a combo.

Buy either one from benspeed or AM and the tunes that come with the combo. I chose the Jlt for the looks, function and great price. Love the brenspeed tune too.

You cannot choose a wrong one from those two.

i am definately looking for performance. Is there a reason that C&L is a lot higher than the jlt, or is it for name recognition?

The tune is what makes the biggest difference, not necessarily the CAI. Some prefer different looks, names etc.

In some cases you're paying for the name and/or the materials of construction and/or advertising and/or blah blah blah. You will NOT feel any difference in performance between the CAI's themselves; only in the quality of the tunes written for you. The C&L Racer might benefit you if you later do some MAJOR internal mod work.

I like my Steeda. Others like their CAI's. That's all that matters.

so i think i'm gonna go with the jlt and tuner combo from american muscle. now i'm looking for suggestions on tunes. my car is an automatic daily driver. so i want one tune for fuel economy. according to AM i shouldn't get the 93 race for daily driving, but it seems a lot of ppl on here have it. i won't be spinning my tires all the time will I?

JLT looks better than the C&L. Ask any female. Lol.
