Either one will be a blast, but if you're into it for power, the GT500 is the platform to play with. The 5.0 GT will likely be the better car as a daily driver, with superior handling and fuel economy.

I made the same mistake. Could've had more power for less hassle over the long run if I'd waited a year or two longer and just got into a used GT500. Or C6 for that matter.

Now I'm going to have to do it the hard(er) way and build this one instead. It's not worth enough to sell, it's paid for, and for $5-7K it will be as fast or faster than a stock GT500.

Yeah at this point, you might as well just bolt her up if its paid off. I'm looking at all options and I have plenty of time to decide as its not even worth buying a performance car up here with snow not all that far away. I may decide by the spring that its completely not worth it at all...

One of the best times to get a good deal is during the fall and especially winter. Seems like prices get lower for RWD sports cars around then.

But you're right no reason to hurry. We have plenty of time to buy and mod cars. It will probably take me literally years to get mine "finished". lol

GT-500!!! I found the perfect 08 last Feb in a garage with 558 miles on it...now with mods I am pushing close to 650 crank hp...the GT is a great car (I have a lightly mod'ed 06)...but no GT can come close to the Shelby!! Get that Shelby and you wont be sorry!

neither, 03-04 cobra is cheaper than both of those cars. and you'll have money left over for some serious mods.
Terminator ftw!

I remember when 400hp in a car was a ridiculous amount of power. Then, I remember when 500hp in a car was completely insane.

Now, 500hp is blah. What a world we live in...

Buy the GT500.
