Default Shelby GT500 or 2011 GT

WIth the prices of the GT500 going down in the used car market, I expect to go down even further with the new 2011 GT with over 400 hp.

2009 GT 500 500 hp / 480 torque ... someone correct me if this # is wrong, I just picked off Google.
2011 GT 5.0 412 hp / 390 torque... Pick one up for $30K or so and slap on a supercharger, and how much hp / torque are you going to end up with?

gt500 hands down. from what i hear with a simple tune and pulley swap your up around 600 hp for under a grand or something like that. And gt500s are gonna be a bit more rare. and just better looking imo

gt500 for sure, i like the styling better personally, but the 5.4 is a beast displacement usually wins the battle on easy hp #'s

This

The GT500 is a better base to build power, if that's what you're going for. And also comes with the factory blower. The 5.0 is still one hell of a car

GT500. Stronger motor, stronger transmission, more cubes, and more potential. $1200 into it and you're at 600hp (crank).

I'm in the minority here but I had the exact same decision. I could get a low mileage 07 or 08 GT500 for about the same price as the 2011. I went with the 2011. My main reason was that I was coming off of a fully loaded 07 with 10k miles and getting a "new" car that had about the same miles and no more options than the car I already had didn't make sense to me. (other than the awesome motor of course). I really liked the refinement of the 11 and the fact that it was brand new. I also knew that the GT500 would have the same rattles that my 07 had. It's a tough call though. Good luck.

Yeah should I end up with another Mustang next year, I think this is the most likely approach for me. Still scoping out some other things as well too. Next time around I'm buying "fast" from the beginning, I won't do the several thousand in supercharger/mods "thing" again...
