New Clutch Question

New Clutch Question
My clutch started slipping a couple weeks ago and now it is completely blown. The only clutches I have seen for the V6 are Spec clutches. I want to upgrade my engine in the future, but it is currently stock. Should I go with the Spec Stage 2 or 3? Are there any other clutches around the same price range for the V6? I haven't been able to find any others. Also, I know the stage 3 handles more torque, but are there any other benefits from a 2 to a 3? They are the same price..
Thank you!
Thank you!

i like the centerforce clutches better than the spec
i have a CF dual friction in the 07 and a spec stage 2 in the 2000, the CF is more streetable almost like stock
the spec 2 grabs well, but its more off and on, and a little chatter when taking off slowly with regular driving.

With the OP on this one, I have only seen Spec clutches for the V6... There is only a spec 1 and 2 for our cars when it comes to the Spec. All you will need is the Spec 1 because that is capable of holding 340lb/tq there is nothing you can do all motor wise that will exceed that without some type of power adder. If you are going to go with Nitrous/ Boost you will still only be around the 340 tq range. I would go with the Spec 1 for your application...

I went with the CenterForce DF as well. I didn't have a good feeling about the quality of SPEC but it wasn't based on any personal experience. I'm very happy with the CF/DF. It does make a bit of a rattle at idle which I assume is from the ring of weights the string around the fingers that are supposed to add extra clamping force. They make a cool sound when you speed shift it that sounds a little bit like a mini blow off valve. performanceintl.com has maybe the best prices on clutches around. I don't see a listing for the 4.0 after '06 so I would call Centerforce and find out what the story is. I seem to recall when I was shopping around a note regarding the need to replace the flywheel as well after 06.

Thank you for all the advice! I went with the Centerforce DF. I just ordered it and will get it replaced next week.
Also, www.rpmoutlet.com had the cheapest price at $289.00 plus free shipping and an $11.50 processing fee.
I was told to get a Ford Racing Throwout Bearing. The only one I have seen is for a V8 up to 2004. Anyone know where to get a 2007 v6 one?
Thanks again!

I'll let you know how it turns out!
