+1... Vettes are cool and I can see myself owning one some day. But I'm a Mustang guy through and through. Guess I have my dad to thank for that.

I test drove an 11 GT a few weeks ago. I opened it up even with the salesman in the car. That's why you do a test drive I've heard of cars that will throw you back in your seat when you get on them but I don't think I've ever driven one. The 11 GT is definitely one of those cars!!!! Like others have said I'm a Mustang guy so that would be my choice. Vettes are cool looking but not as practical for a family man. If you've got the money I'd go for the GT500 or wait for the Boss 302.

What is an RTR? Will that replace the GT trim?

Published Jun 14, 2010
Just the Facts:
2011 Ford Mustang RTR is a new dealer-installed package for the GT.
Priced at $7,895, the package was introduced by drifter Vaughn Gittin, Jr.
A Mustang V6 package will be available in late 2010.

DEARBORN, Michigan — The 2011 Ford Mustang RTR, a new dealer-installed package for the Mustang GT V8 priced at $7,895, is now available at select Ford dealers. The package was introduced by Vaughn Gittin, Jr., driver of the Monster Energy/Falken Tire 2011 Mustang GT in the Formula Drift series.

Ford spokesperson Angie Kozleski says the package price includes "all the options," in an e-mailed message to Inside Line on Monday. The package includes Ford Racing Falken FK-452 tires, unique 19-inch wheels and RTR-exclusive floor mats, shifter **** and emblems. Other performance upgrades include Ford Racing mufflers and a Ford Racing handling pack that bundles performance-tuned dampers and springs.

Exterior touches include a chin spoiler with splitters and supports, rocker splitters, a rear diffuser and an aluminum rear spoiler.

A Mustang V6 package will be available in late 2010. The Mustang RTR Carbon is being teased at MustangRTR.com, priced at $135,000. No other details on the RTR Carbon have been released.

Inside Line says: A relatively affordable way to spruce up your Mustang GT, especially if you are a fan of Vaughn Gittin, Jr. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
That is the RTR...
