I would make sure your Ebrake isnt stuck then I would do the following:
Make sure tires are full
Change plugs
clean / replace air filter
Clean MAF and TB

I should quite while I'm ahead... IF I ever was.

Good catch on the MAF and TB cleaning, JD. I missed those above.

Ok, great - I've got some good ideas as to where to start now.

And to answer the question that was previously asked - no I do not have any custom work to my engine, nor do I have special sized tires. Just stock tires/engine.

I'll start with the oil change and air filter change along with making sure my tire pressure is where it should be. (do COLD air intake's improve or lessen gas mileage? Been debating actually getting one).

If that does not fix the problem - my car is over 60,000 so I will try to replace the fuel filter/plugs (how much would that cost roughly?)

Thank you for the advice!! And I'll clean out those MAF/TB sensors too.

Despite what a few folks may claim, a CAI & tune will not greatly improve fuel mileage and typically will lower it slightly (more because you want to put your foot in it more often) by maybe 1 MPG. If you can restrain yourself, it'll have negligible affect on fuel mileage. But then, nobody buys them for fuel savings anyway. Sort of stupid to spend around $600 in order to save a MPG or 2, don't you think?

What is the mileage on the car? Ever change the fuel filter? When my fuel filter was needing change, my mpg dropped and the stang actually started to feel sluggish.

Maintenance is important all the things you list that need to be done will negatively affect your gas mileage. You can't expect the car to perform as expected if you don't do the maintenance regularly.

Take care of your maintenance then recheck your mileage. I know maintenance can get expense if you don't do it yourself but try to save a few bucks each payday just for when this stuff comes up you can do it on time. Or better yet read through the how to's section and try some things yourself, the stuff you mention you need is not very hard to do over a few hours one weekend.

I get a kick when I see folks saying that they went with the V6 for fuel economy.
Huh? V6 Bad fuel economy?

I get 30.5 on the highway, and that's using a calculator and gas receipt, not the mustang's computer.
