Default One Fat Car

The v8 05 weighs in at about 3450 lbs. That's not slim, in fact that's pretty fat.

Has anyone made a concentrated effort to try and reduce the weight of the car? I mean beyond removing the rear seat.

I know that replacing some of the steel components of the car's handling system helps a bit, but I'm running out of stuff to swap out.

Aside from the easier stuff like taking out the back seat and changing some body and exhaust component materials, I'll be you could get very nice return on investment by spending your real money on light-weight wheels and other unsprung suspen stuff..

Here is the car your looking for. These cars are not supposed to be all that light. If they were made light, it wouldn't be able to do half of what it does.

Well that hood you have is aluminum and only weighs 25 pounds!
Try the suspension tips. Oh, and chuck out that POS Shaker stereo! Lose the spare tire, jack and all that, delete the rear spoiler, Replace your power driver seat with a Recaro...

-shaker = light weight boom box
-spare/jack = AAA membership

i'd seriously consider the spare and jack..even the back seat. but please don't take my shaker away!! (i guess i'm one of the few that like mine). i think the general rule is that for every 100lbs lost is the equivalent of a 10hp gain. if you live in a cold enough climate you can remove the AC compressor and elec cooling fans too. here in TX there's no f-in way
