Default Anyone had their AC condenser replaced? How much was it?

Mine has hole or crack that I can't see, but I can feel the freon coming out as well as see the green residue. How much am I going to get hit up for on this one? The leak is above my finger.

Also, how do I protect my new one? I don't want this to happen again.

Can't help you with the cost question but one of the next things I am going to do to my Stang is get Billet grills to help protect the condenser. The condenser is pretty exposed at the bottom plus my CDC Classic chin seems to funnel objects up into it.
Every time I wash the car it seems like there is new damage like fins bent over.

Close guess would be 400.00 Parts and labor.

That guess is about right, but that's with my buying the condenser for $100 online.

Ford said will install, vacuum and refill for $320. Vacuum and refill is $140, so the install is $180. I'll probably just have them do it. $180 to them versus me spending a day doing it.

I'm getting some type of grill so this doesn't happen again. Even if its just some strong window screen.

I checked rockauto.com:

005 FORD MUSTANG 4.0L 245cid V6 FI SOHC : Heat & Air Conditioning : A/C Condenser $88.79

Not bad

Any shop should be able to swap it out and recharge the system. Would be about $100-150 I would guess.

Are there any differences between brands? It is just a condenser?

I'm sure there's a difference although you should be safe with any "name" brand. rockauto had a Motorcraft one for $154.00

Alright, Amazon has the Motorcraft one for $137 shipped. I may get that one.

Went ahead and ordered from Amazon. Had $40 in GC and got free two shipping with prime.

Thanks for the link to Rockauto, that gave me the part number for the Motocraft.

I'll spend this weekend fabbing a screen/protector.
