Kooks could not figure it out. The manager talked to Chris Rose and all was well with my tune so it wasnt running too rich or something. I think it was basically ****ty cats that they use.

Thanks, what part does the length of the resonator play? Also is there a difference between brands?

Do you guys have emissions testing where you are? Here in Arizona they (state) starts testing when the car is 5 years old.

Anyone know if it's possible to pass emissions without cats?

Longer equals quieter. There is a difference in brands. Some are aluminized and some are stainless steel. Some have perforated core (looks like small holes) other are louver core (looks like a cheese grater). I am not sure how different they will sound. I have aluminized louver core resonators or glasspacks.

Yes we have emissions here. Its basically the same as in Arizona. I will figure something out when the time comes. Chris Rose said he will get me an emissions tune so we shall see but I got a long time till then.

It's possible, but only if they don't sniff the tailpipe or do an undercar inspection. They've done neither on mine anyplace I've gone. Only the ODBII tests.

I was wondering how you knew the cats were bad because I ran FRPP hotrod cams in my car for about 20k miles, then pulled them out and went back to stock cams. I've often wondered if the cams may have stressed out my cats. They pushed a good bit of unburnt fuel through with the long duration/overlap of the hotrods...I'm wondering if it messed up the cats. They have about 60k miles on them so it's probably time for a new midpipe, but I really hate to spend the $400.

Well the cats worked just fine as far as I know. They would rattle horribly like they were made poorly. I went through 3 sets and they all rattled within 40-50 miles

Yeah I like the sound of your car but im def glad I went with the x-pipe. I have the sound I was looking for finally. Everyone likes something a little different but you can beat the stingers with any combo.
