2011 - Door'd

So my 2011 already felt the wrath of some asshole's door. I parked a bit closer to work for once and came out to see this little beauty:

It's slightly dented inwards, right on the curve directly next to the door with a tiny scrap/scuff mark below where the other part braised it.

Does anyone have any advice as to how I should go about getting this fixed up? I've never really known the best way to go about it considering this is the first time I've ever had this happen.

I would take it to paintless dent removal, then try to buff out the scratch/mark with a light rubbing compound. Worse if the car is black.

Wow, sorry to see that happened.

They need to put some reactive armor on these cars so when someone dings our doors, it blows their door clean off.

This pisses me off... especially because 90% of the people who drive don't care about their cars and will just... oops, and park somewhere else. I've had my car dinged several times, even when I make the effort to go out of my way/walk/etc. Society is full of ignorant bastards. :( Sorry man.

man that pisses me off..i feel your pain bro..

Paintless dent removal should take the ding out no problem. Fixing the paint is out of my expertise though.

It does suck. I find myself torn between parallel parking and having people smash into my bumpers or parking normally and having people ding my doors. You're screwed either way. I now always try to find an end spot to at least up my chances of coming out unscathed by 50%.

i felt your pain! people have done this crap to my cars over the years... best of luck to you getting it fixed and back to normal!

Well, the first one is always the worst. Thoughts and prayers....

James07GT Sep 2, 2010 11:35 AM

Man that sucks, I try parking miles away every place I go to. Even then still some will park next to you.

Flargimmer Sep 2, 2010 11:46 AM

Thanks for the advice, guys. Sorry to hear I'm not the only one this has happened to.

Blows my mind that people could be so terribly inconsiderate. I'm always incredibly careful opening my doors no matter kind of vehicle I park near or next to.

It still drives like a dream, at least! :)
