Default Question about Shaker 1000

For those of you that have it, is it worth it? How heavy is it in the back of the trunk?

I need some opinions on this. Thinking of buying a new ride but it comes with Shaker 1000. It has all the options I want, except that one. I don't want to go through the process and ordering just over shaker.

Thanks

It sounds better than the 500 (I've had them both). The SYNC functions are fantastic (if you have a 2010+). The subwoofer box is lightweight ABS; I doubt it adds much weight but it does take up trunk space. That's no issue if you're just hauling groceries and luggage but it does make it harder to fit guitars and amps back there ;-)

Neither stereo 500 or 1K sounds fantastic (by hi-fi aftermarket standards) but they're both better than premium factory radios in most other autos.

By all means use that as a bargaining point though ("I really like the car but don't want the shaker 1K and don't want to pay the difference in price....can you knock another $500 off of MSRP?")

Second best stereo I have had in a car. The first best was a Bose sound system in my Nissan Maxima.

I like mine as well. Sure sounds a hell of a lot better than the Mach 460 in my old '04.

Also, if you go with it and find it a little tame Shelby sells the Kicker replacement speakers (all speakers except replacements for the trunk sub box) for an easy plug and play upgrade.

I dream of the day when these OEMs hook up with JL Audio! A person can dream...

I always add JL Audio subs and amps. The music/bass in my car is just as important as the car.
