Thumbs down Getting tierd of C&L damage

I had my racer intake installed by the shop that did the dyno tunning, but the tube and filter keep rubbing against different parts of the car. I keep re-ejusting it every which way so it doestent touch anything, but every few weeks it still keeps going back to the chafing the filter and the paint. I replaced the Original C&L filter with a K&N because it got worn, and now I hear the new one bumbing when the engine vibrates at low RPMs or when I hit a bump in the road.....sucks !!!

I could not get my camera to focus but here it is:

cupler rubbing agains the power steering fluid box
hard to see here but the white spot on the pic is pretty worn out in reality:

filter fitting the body:

2nd filter torn:

kinda strange... i would try and adjust it as much as possible so it doesnt obviosly, or put a piece of foam underneath it. kinda ghetto but it wont make noise or scratch things up.

I have a similar effect with the rubbing the paint off in one spot with my BBK on my V6, I would put something inbetween the paint and the filter.

I agree with Drewsky, put something under it to act as protection. Even a couple of layers of duct tape would work.

It seems like they would've caught a design flaw like that...

spend $5 at the auto store and get rubber gasket material.

cut a sheet about 4" x 4" and then slip it under the filter. problem solved. now go touch up that paint before you start getting rust
