Well this is certaintly shaping up to be an interesting thread! I kind of had the feeling that there would not be a random AUX button that does literally nothing, but I was never sure. I hope someone tears up their console to see if it really is there or not. IF it is I will have no problem ripping mine out and figuring out how to make it work.

edit: k that attachment sucked, had to upload this via MS DOS on the work computer haha

I pulled apart the center console and took a look inside. I did not see the audio input jack as per the diagram. There was a bundled piece on the wiring harness folded back towards the front of the console, but I could not tell what the piece was or what it was connected to, if at all. It did not feel loose and I could not get a clear view so I left it as it was. I am interested to see what others find.

Damn. It should be attached to that main bundle right under the cup holder, probably a flat little plug with 3 or 4 wires

I'm suspecting that Ford wanted to implement this in '05-'06 but never pulled the trigger until '07. Possible that they never revised the workshop manual for some reason.

After further inspection of the diagram, the cable appears to be the transmission shift selector. So no aux input cable that I can see.

I have the shaker 500.

The way the cable is folded, placed and the plug head (hard to see in the pic) does appear to be the transmission shift selector to me. Though I wouldn't mind at all if anyone else wants to do more investigating.

On the bright side, I cleaned out a starburst wrapped and a tooth pick

Haha well that's always a plus. At least I don't have to rip apart too much to get in there.

I'll take a look in a bit, I had to throw a cover on my car at work because a storm was coming through and I'm a water spot **** (gonna be sunny in a few minutes again). Hm.
