Ok, I have a question for everyone. I got my brand new GT bout 6 months ago. When i got it had 1 mile on it and all. Everything worked wonderfully until i discovered my shaker 1000 system started acting up. It didn't skp cds and all, what mine started doing was it would decrease volume when i cut it up. So i was not allowed to listen to my music above a certain audio level. So i took it to the Ford Dealership and they said it shouldn't do that, so they took it out and sent it off for 3 weeks leaving me musicless and all. I get it back and the they put it back in and the dern thing did the same thing. So i had my mom talk to them and they ordered me whole new radio or what not, well thye installled it and it is still doing the same thing. What the hell is wrong with thtis thing to make the volume go down, cuz i have the speed level option cut off. It really gets on my nerves, and I want to know how to get it function right and not have conflicting volume levels...Please let me know what to ask the guys at ford about and whatever...Thanks everyone I will greatly appreciate the input i recieve

Sounds like the wrong impedance. everything Ok up to a point, but put too much juice in and speakers can't handle heat and resistance forces a current cut-back. PRoblem with the amp, proly. is there a amp swx? 4 ohm to 8, or somthin?

Could be an assembly screw up. They mounted Shaker 500 speakers in your car.. with a 1000 head unit and sub. So.. when you crank the volume your overloading the door and rear panel speakers.

You should definately take it back to the dealer though... you paid extra for that stereo and it should work... period... DON'T accept "We can't fix it" untill they have replaced every component - including speakers and wireing.

i've got a buddy who is a service writer at a ford dealership in Louisiana. He told me that it is a recurring problem on the shaker 1000's.
It's something internal. Bring it in to the dealership. There's nothing that you can do yourself to fix it.

That is the thing.. I have already taken it abck once, andt hey sent it to the ford dealership for like 3 weeks to fix it, and then i got it back, and they were like it is fixed. Well the thing kept doing the same thing, so i made them replace the cd player, b/c that is what they said was wrong with it, and so i got a brand new radio installed and it is still doing the same..but I will call and ask bout the amp thing. thanks everyone, i will let yall know what is up

The problem is that you bought a factory "System" and expected it to sound good at a loud volume!
