Thinking of getting a 2011 Mustang...V6 owners, do you regret not getting the V8?

i say drive them both and make your decision based on how you feel...maybe after the drive you'll feel more comfortable with the v6 b/c maybe the v8 will have too much power for you...who knows? i just think you should drive them both and make a decision on that. i was on the verge of buying a 2011 v6 and i felt that it wasn't enough power for me...i mean yea they get 305 hp or whatever but its from a v6 and the gears are very low so you get no "oomph" for lack of a better word out of that engine. if i had the money i would've gotten a 2011 gt but i went with a 06 gt as i am about to grad. college and i'm not making the big bucks just yet.
i'd just like to add that i had a v6 for years and wanted more power so i wanted a v8 only...

I have a 2010 V8 in the shop getting repaired in the body shop. The insurance co provided a 2011 V6 for me. For me, I am impressed with the V6 power but massively unwherlmed with the sound. A 2011 V6 premium would be tempting compromise if I let myself get too practical with gas mileage etc.

If you can afford a GT in your financial situation, go for it.
Personally, I don't care much for interior amenities. While I could afford a base 5.0 (with Brembos, 3.73) right now, it wouldn't be the smartest, nor the safest, decision to make. If I had the money to allow for a comfortable purchase of either? The 5.0 without a doubt. Also, MPG was a factor for me since I drive a lot of city miles, and I included costs of modding in my calculation.
In the end, I ordered a V6 with the Performance Package, which is about $5,000 less than a base GT. The planned mods would cost about around $2,500. If I bought a GT, I would have had to keep it stock. Considering that the V6 has plenty enough horsepower/torque to drive around, I chose to have a unique looking V6 than a stock GT, despite the 100 more horsepower difference. The V6 will always carry a stigma, sure, but I made the best decision for my current situation and I don't regret it at all. And to be honest, 85% of the people on the road would never know whether you have a V6 or a GT, but they will notice if your car looks unique and awesome. I'm also just using it to tide me over until the 2014+ model, in which I'll get a GT if life permits.
I think, if free of financial restraints, the choice would be obvious. That's why I believe when V8 owners talk down or insult V6 owners, by saying things such as "a V6 isn't a Mustang", it's almost like trashing a person who doesn't have as much money as you.
To make it simple, if you can afford it, the GT without a doubt. The sound alone is enough of an argument, it's so goddamn intoxicating. If, for financial reasons, you have to make a choice, it becomes a personal choice and depends on your priorities.

As a V6 owner...also as one who test drove both models of the 2011 series...there is a significant difference in feel between the 2...if you are going to go with a V6..make sure you never test drive or ride in the 2011 GT! You will always say to yourself.."I wish I had the GT"...and all in all...the GT is worth every cent and sacrafice

I bought a V6, then people told me to get a GT.
I thought about that, but didn't want people telling me I should have gotten a GT500.
So I thought about a GT500, until I realized that the Super Snake owners would make fun of me.
So for less than the price of a new Mustang, I went and bought a 427 Cobra. I just have to put it together now.
I blame you all.

My thoughts exactly. If you are asking then you will likley regret it. I made that mistake in 2000 with a V6. It does have 300 hp but it will never sound like V8 or resale as well.

I see a lot of folks saying to get the GT mainly because of the V8 sound/rumble. I say save $7000 and get the V6 and install some Flowmasters on it to get a better rumble. You can get a tricked out V6 for less than a base GT. I go to Ford's site a price out these cars all the time.
A Premium V6 with the options I want (Automatic, Glass Roof, Rear Camera, Electronics) costs right around $32,000. The same options on a V8 costs $39,000. The V8 has around 30% more horsepower than the V6 but, you don't get 30% more power feel.
The V6 is the bomb to me now but, you can't go wrong with any new Mustang today. It's a great time for Mustang enthusiasts.

I have an '05 V-6 It's a 4.0 L. Obviously doesn't have the acceleration off the line as a V-8 does, but it isn't to shabby for a 6 either! Plus, I check fuel mileage regularly, and consistantly get 21 - 22 mpg city/hwy, on a trip all hwy miles I'll get 27.6mpg! That's when I smile and am happy with my choice! Really love my V-6!

This is the answer to your question.
Default Thinking of getting a 2011 Mustang...V8 owners, do you regret not getting the V6?
I was just wondering if there are V8 owners that despite the added power are wishing they got the 3.7 V6? I haven't test driven either but a friend of mine said the 3.7 is like a totally different car...
The 3.7 is 100 + LBS lighter in front than the 5.0, that's all I need to know.
2011 3.7 Auto Dyno with SCT 3.73 rear
(35mm) 1-3/8" x .25 wall Adjustable FSB
(22mm) 7/8 Adjustable RSB
Steeda Sport Springs Lower car
1" lowerer front, 1 1/4 lower inch rear.
Steeda HD Strut Mount
Koni Yellow Adjustable Shocks/Struts F&R
