Not positive on the v6, there was a forum member here who posted a story saying he pulled up to a guy with a S197 mustang with 5.0 badges, kind of laughed. They ended up pulling over and apparently he dropped a 5.0 into the S197. Not sure on the v6 model though.

Yes you can! It's going to be a pain in the *** unless you have a donor car, maybe one that was wrecked in the rear and you can just swap the parts over.

why would you need a donor car? They offer the 5.0 as a crate option. You can buy it from any dealership.

Devil is in the details... in most swaps, electronics is the bug a boo.. plus tranny and rear end will be needed for a V6 starting point...

Yes, donor car!
Always the best way to do it.

As these cars flood the streets and sadly, the junk yards, there is now a market for someone to make a bolt on computer and harness kit for the newer engines (5.0 and 5.4) in transplant to previous models Mustangs.
A plug and play kinda thing...
No one has tapped this but there's money to be made at very little cost.

As far as I know it is going to cost you a pretty penny, but I'll leave the numbers to the pros. I must admit, it would look and be awesome.

Ford has(or is still working on) a kit for this conversion.. o it indeed can be done. But I believe that the kit is for v8 to v8 swap..
