Default Great rebates on leftover 2010 GT's

I don't know about other parts of the country, but here in Indiana it's $5000 on 2010 GT's.

I believe in my town, several dealerships are knocking off $6000, plus giving the universal $1000 Ford-wide customer appreciation discount, and even negotiating a couple K more off.

I have heard of guys bragging about how they ripped off the dealership by getting $10K off a '10 GT. But since this is all internet banter and bragging, those numbers are highly inflated, and those guys 9 times out of 10 are full of BS.

I see that $7K off the '10 GTs are about average with those local incentives.

The wife & I are looking at one, & might get it tomorrow. We crunched the #'s at the dealer yesterday. $5000 rebate, & $2500 more for X-Plan. They're actually giving me X-Plan price, but not filing a claim with Ford. That way I also get the $500 college student discount. $8000 off sticker is very tempting.

Assuming someone WANTS a '10... Even then, with the dealers trying to dump inventory on these leftovers, the average Joe will jump on $5k-$7k off MSRP not realizing that it simply takes some savvy negotiating to drop that another grand or 2.

This car will be for her. I won't get her an '11 because I'm not about to have her car be faster than mine! We were looking at ordering a 2011 V6, but we both like driving the V8 better. And we also think the GT will hold its value better for trade-in in 4 or 5 years.

After I saw this thread my curiousity got to me and temptation.. I searched online my local ford dealers but didn't see any mention of rebates etc. I emailed one for their best price on a 2010 red, sticker at $29K.... If what you guys are saying is true ($5K-$7K rebates) that would bring it down to $24K or so, very tempting (screw the 2011, lol for that price, maybe).

Ford.com had no mention of a $5K rebate.

Just for the heck of it, I checked carmax , for comparison , and they had a 2010 used GT with 3K miles for $24.6K , doesn't seem a bargain if you can trully pay these low prices on the new 2010.

MCATE, what price did they quote you?

Sorry, but "Ford" and "hold it's value" doesn't fit in the same sentence, lol.

The $5000K - $700K incentives have nothing to do with corporate Ford (FMC, aka Ford Motor Company). The only thing that comes from FMC is the $1000 customer appreciation discount, ADX plans, and $500 -$750 for other qualified customer incentives.

The $5K-$7K incentives are all given at the franchise levels (i.e. at the dealerships). These incentives are in addition to what FMC gives at a corporate level to the dealers.
