Crank case breather vents

Crank case breather vents
I am going to put K&N filters on my valve covers. Do I need to vent the oil fill cap as well? Does anyone forsee any problems venting your valve covers on a naturally aspirated car?

From reading and research I have discovered that it's a bad idea to remove the PCV system from the car. The PCV system acts like a vacuum pump on your crank case removing bad air generated from the combustion process and volatile impurities from your oil. The vacuum removes these impurities and they are burned in the combustion process. The vacuum also relieves pressure from the crank case which will increase engine horsepower and efficiency. This was proven years ago, and why race cars run dedicated vacuum pumps on the crank case. Your best bet is to run a catch can that retains the OEM PCV setup, but will still remove the blow by oil from the air before it returns back to the air intake manifold.
If you delete the PCV system and run breathers, you will have to change your oil more frequently because it will get dirty faster and this depletes the additive content of the oil faster.
The JLT oil separator is the easiest catch can to install that I have found. It's not cheap, but it works.
