Default @ dealer NOW to buy 4 2010

I was quoted $24450, msrp $29K. I just saw the invoice and the $24450 is ACTUALLY lower than x plan & invoice!!! I was hoping invoice would be less than the $24458 .they are apprasing my 2004 now, so we'll see.

I can"t see them going much lower since they are already under invoice & x plan.

Thoughts?

I'd walk personally. You can get a stripped down 2011 GT for about $27k if you shop around.

Paying $24k for a year older model, and probably not the fully loaded one isn't a good choice IMO.

recommend you pass. they are going to rape you on your trade-in as well

They are raping you. Did they provide the Vaseline?

Apprasing, thats a good one.
Deciding whats the lowest price you will accept
for the trade-in, maybe.

2010? They should be paying YOU to drive it off the lot.
Any price you get will always result is a very big profit
margin for the dealership, salesman(woman) and on
down the line until Ford gets their cut of the deal.

Tell them you plan on financing to get a low price
cus they believe they will get most of the 'discount'
back in the form of interest on the loan. Once a price
is written in stone, change your mind and pay for that
sucka with cash....
That be what I did and got a stickered $19,995 2007 V6
for $17,087 when they were NOT the left over last years
model.

I'd walk on that one as well. You can do much better unless they give you an amazing trade on your car which is highly unlikely.

Its a juggling game with the values when you trade. If the trade-in is reasonable, or they want to show that they seem to be giving you maybe a grand more than they should, then its not TOO bad of a deal. Its hard to say without the whole story, because the price of the car is but one variable... That said my msrp was 29-something, and I bought it for about 23 (23,2xx I believe). I got exactly what I wanted for the trade-in, and I'm sure they still made a grand or two off the trade on the re-sale as is always the case.

If it makes you happy get it. Everyone around here acts like a 2010 Mustang GT is such a horrible car. If you can't afford a 2011 5.0 there is nothing wrong with getting a 2010 GT for thousands less.

Heh, yeah I've noticed that too. Since the 05s, this forum has been full of people loving their cars and having lots of fun modding the 4.6. Then the 5.0 comes out and suddenly over night the 4.6 is a piece of crap, lol. After having owned a 2007 GT, and a 2009 GT, I can say that the 2010 is an improvement over both of those, and it was even a bit faster stock. Its a fine car, and I say if you can find a leftover one cheap enough, grab it. There are a boatload of aftermarket parts available for the 4.6, and many have been tried and tested for years now. The 5.0s are just getting started, and we haven't seen enough blown up yet. I for one, wouldn't have had to patience to wait out the aftermarket. I intend to have a blower on this bitch in about 4 months.

^^^ ding ding ding lol

That is why i bought the 2010 knowing the 5.0 would be coming, i wanted a blower and to mod right away. I would have died waiting months for parts to become available. That said if it were me, tell them you changed your mind on the trade, haggle the price down. Then say you know what i want to trade my 04 and you already have your price. the trade is where they get you a lot of the time. Personally, don't listen to what people say is a bad deal or not, just buy what you can afford and are happy with. 11 or 10, you will love both cars much better all around on the inside than the 09 down cars, eons ahead in ride and noise on the inside. Nothing wrong the the 10 cars dude.

most people think the value of a 10 car is nothing since the 5.0 is out. the only people in the world that care about that 5.0 are people like us. The other 99% of car buyers pick up their ride based on looks and price. lol, my grandmother who is 75 just bought herself a 96 GT vert because it was a drop top and "a pretty blue" she didn't even know what GT meant.
