I would do such a simple mod, it is way easy and even ingenious.

However, my GPS unit will not fit because my dash and 12V socket looks like this:

OK, I gotta give it to Adam. That is also a genius way of doing it.

and with his you won't leave any glue. Still I prefer mine since its so simple and easy to use.

ROFLMAO! Wow, Adam, you really made my night!

I wish I could do something where I could mount my GPS below the dash line, but my damn 12V power/recharger plug always gets in the way

That's a great idea. It doesn't stick out as much as sticking the black round disc between the two vents. I'll try it too.
