Bummed that Ethanol in gas may go to 15%

Yes, if increase in ethanol brings lower fuel costs, it would be ok I guess. Ethanol is made here in the U.S.A. so, that is good I guess. More ethanol blend should mean less purchasing of foreign oil. Nothing seems to run better than ethanol free gas though. That always gives me the best MPGs.

Yeah, I don't like the idea of corn used as fuel for cars instead of food for people either. According to the TV ads from POET, they say they are making ethanol from garbage. I'll take that method over corn any day.

Ooh! Ooh! I got one!
We can round up all the hippies, and their precious corn, and bury them in this big hole for a really long time, and Presto! Oil!
All kidding aside; these EPA guys seriously need to consider the consequences of using corn for ethanol. Simply upping the requirement from E10 to E15 with the assumption that our food corn production will supply that difference is only going to put stress on our farm lands.
What will happen, as we keep increasing our Ethanol use, will force us to import more crops from other countries. Countries that will chop down their precious carbon scrubbing rain forests to make farm land to grown corn that is inefficient at scrubbing carbon as a jungle forest is.
I say to the tree huggers: "Dumb-*** hippie! How are you saving your precious tree if you save only one and chop down ten more?"
