I agree 100%

OP, support rods are really meant for wind splitters; not chin spoilers. 99.99% of people with chin spoilers don't need support rods. You'd be the .01% that does.

i said they are functional due to then spoiler not haveing any support in the center now since i cut it out... so they are in a way.... it brings it into the car.

maybe i can fab them and make them verticle? would that make it better?

That chin has a center section that fits in the lower opening of the bumper. If he cut that part out he in fact is correct and there is no support in the center. Therefore making them functional fasteners. Nothing like they are suppose to be used for.. i.e. pitch...

Anyways, find smaller ones and put them on vertical.

I really like the look of the support rods on splitters. It gives the car kind of a nascar look. In this case though I'd say leave them off. The bumper look good without them. If you do decide to put them on though, it might look sick if they were powdercoated black.
