Good luck with everything. Just keep on looking and there's gotta be something out there. Also good luck with the new car you do find for the mean time!

I wouldn't be so hasty in selling the car. You're going to take a loss on it, which you really can't afford. Imagine selling the car and finding a job next week, then you're really going to feel bad.

Have you tried online job sites? Here's a few to get you started:

http://www.careerbuilder.com/
http://www.job-hunt.org/
http://www.hound.com/
http://www.employmentguide.com/
http://www.nationjob.com/
http://www.jobcentral.com/

Good luck!

I know how that is, I was laid off right before Christmas last year down in Dallas. I'm a software engineer with 16 years of experience and an impressive resume, and while I was getting far more calls than the average out of work engineer according to all the recruiters, it was slllllooooowwwww going. I'd interview then just never heard back, or hear that they hired someone for 10k a year cheaper with 1/2 the experience (a friggin joke at my salary level). Early this year I sold the supercharged 09 GT for similar reasons. Finances were dwindling fast and that thing was costing me about $700/month in payment, insurance and storage costs.

I eventually took a job as CTO with a very small company I helped to start up back in 1999 thankfully, so things have worked out so far. I took that job about a month after selling the GT, but wasn't pissed about that. I had lost about $12,000 cash in being laid off and having hardly any income, so I had and still have some ground to make up. Thankfully I found this 2010 on the cheap so I have a "toy" again... Its probably going to take another year of being hopefully employed gainfully for me to feel like I'm even close to being back where I was.

Good luck man, things will turn for the better eventually. I have gotten TONS of calls and emails from Dallas in the past 3 months, so things must have picked up somewhat out there. Try like hell to find something asap, because once you get to about a week before Thanksgiving, its pretty much dead until February in my experience (at least for white collar / professional jobs anyway).

You should post what major city you live near and what type of job you are looking for. You never know where a job lead might come from...

So many people are in your shoes dude. Both my brothers lost their jobs, one of em just last week. Both were big $ jobs which will be hard to replace. The company that I worked for for over 20 years finally imploded and closed due to two moron owners. I was so stressed out the last two years I actually ended up in a cardiologists office with heart pains. I started my own company this year and its been my best year ever. The point is sometimes when one door closes, another one, a better one opens up.

Good luck

That sucks man, best of luck selling your Stang. Like someone else said, post your local and line of work maybe, you never know where that next opt may come from. Eitherway, stick around the forum no matter what your next ride may be, this is a solid site.

Good luck to you Mook. I also had to make a tough decision to get rid of my car... but it shouldn't keep you from staying on the Forum and sharing your opinions and insight.

Think about it.....
