Default Slow Acceleration on 2010 4L V6?

I just bought a 2010 4L V6 Mustang. I love everything about it but the acceleration on it seems weak. I'll step on the gas and it revs but it doesn't really have a big push to it. I had a 3.5L V6 Altima that seemed to have much more power on the acceleration. Does the Mustang just have slow acceleration or is it something I should get checked out? Thanks

everyone knows the 4.0 v6 from the factory doesnt have much bite or bark...

it can be made to perform much better however.
follow these steps if you really want a faster car, 2 options:

A. get a GT, problem solved

B.
1. CAI/Tune (500 bucks)
2. Gears and TLoc (500-1000 bucks)
3. Aluminum Driveshaft (450 bucks)
4. Supercharge it (3500-6000 bucks)

You're probably not going to get much help posting on the general section just saying your V6 is slow. You could have a legitimate problem but most people are just going to say "duh" because without some numbers or actually being there we have no way of knowing if there's anything out of the ordinary.

I know that the SE version of that 3.5 Altima is rated at 270 hp and 250 lb ft of torque, so if that's what you were driving before than yes, you will notice the 4.0 will feel sluggish off the line. jd's recommended mods above will help a lot, though.

I guess I just feel like there might be something wrong since my Altima had much more acceleration with a smaller 3.5 engine. I thought there might be something that needed to get checked out by a mechanic because it doesn't have much acceleration. Do any other 4 L v6 owners feel it has a slow acceleration?

You do know your Altima made more power, right?

Have you driven other V6 auto's?

Bigger doesn't always mean better. Our SOHC4.0 is almost 10 years old and was used in trucks and SUVs, your old car simply had newer, more efficient technology

Add a cold air intake and Bama 93 octane race tune and you will be chirping through 2nd in no time.

Depending on what year Altima ... it makes quite a bit more power than the Mustang. I think the V6 Altima is like 265 or 280 HP isn't it ???
