I strongly recommend the BBR guys, if not for the kit, at least for the tuning aspect of it.

Think about it. do you want some moron with some money to blow have a 600+ HP missle on the road? At 10 PSi it will probalby be pushing 825 or 850+...that's a lot of power in the hands of the masses.

Most people won't go beyond what the stock can handle because they either don't have the money or want to keep the car as a DD so they don't want the down time. When you have to start pulling the motor and upgrading it you're less likely to beat on it because of all of the extra time and money you put into it.

Just my thoughts. I don't see the point of a DD with more than 600HP (even that is pretty high) where you going to use that power? The street? Riiiigggghhhtt.... /rant

anyways, it would be interesting to see what the motor can handle in stock form I'm just not thrilled what it means for the average moron driver.
You gained 250hp with 2.5lbs of boost in your hypothetical. I know you know that's not going to happen.

"2011 Mustang GT 5.0L dynoed in at 607 rear wheel horsepower on only 7.5 psi."

Hey man I just read the article, according to the mag, the 607HP came with the larger D-1SC (vs. the P-1SC) & the boost was at 11psi with the 4.38-inch pulley. Which is correct?

Either way, very impressive, but there is a huge jump from 7.5 to 11psi.

It's always cool to "ohh, ahh" over these types of numbers and times, but in reality; all their really doing is showcasing their talents in tuning and the after market performance in a quest for more customers at their site/shop, Nothing more... how many of us 9-5 guys can afford all the stuff they do to these 9 second wonders? Even if we could, would we really want all that power on the street day to day, to work, the mall etc. I think they do a spectacular job at what they do, but believing word for word on what they do and thinking I can do the same with my GT is not only ridiculous, but it's like browsing through a bodybuilding magazine and believing that I can get huge like the pros with muscle milk and creatine ester rofl... it's not gonna happen

Hey, props to the guys that get the new 5.0s above and beyond the factory specs and more, but I no way think that I will be able to to obtain similar results without a ton of money and sacrifice..

Are you saying muscle milk will not instantly add 50 pounds of rock hard muscle?

Those are some impressive numbers, however i wonder about the bottom end of the 5.0 and if it can handle that. I am sure it is a very well designed and built engine but that just seems like to much considering the already high compression ratio of the engine. If the bottom end can take it thats great but i feel like the head gasket and rings are screaming because of the stress. The engine is already running 11:1 compression ratio, if the volume is increased from boost it just seems like it would add much more stress than if the car war running say 9:1 or even 8:1, maybe that would even allow for more power.

Either way, i feel like the transmission will take a huge dump on the pavement long before the engine does.
