Need Some Help. Removing Air Vents?

Just my luck.
I ran out of my flat black paint and had ONE vent to go.
I did not realize the color of flat black I used was a special military
color flat black and other flat blacks would not match up.
The whole town was out of that color.
I checked online and it would take two weeks to get it shipped.
So I'm gonna have to sand these bastards down again and
use a "regular" flat black.
The kind I used was Testors MODEL MASTER.
Now I am just using Testors...
Back to the 'ol drawing board.
Or should I say painting board?
