I go to a auto shop that doesn't look underneath the car. As long as it's not throwing a code, they've passed it the last 2 years.

Ahhh....my decision is made. Gonna buy some Pypes metallic cats from Brenspeed and call it a day. Per Chandler at Brenspeed they are easily spliced into my current Pypes H pipe. Those with a pair of anti-foulers on the rear 02's and he says there is no problem passing OBDII testing with one of their emissions tunes even with my cams.

Thanks for the opinions though.

Well, this might be late, but I would of offered up 3 different options.

One that people have had luck with, is the non fouler trick. They pull the O2's away from the pipe, so they dont see as much flow and throw a code. Brenspeed has them for $20 a set.

Another idea, what I have on now, are MIL's. They just tell the computer everything is grand. I have an O/R pipe, and was running a tune by AM with the O2's turned on, and I threw no codes.

The last option, would be a dyno tune. The guy i went to said within SCT's parameters you can turn the O2's on, and have them NOT report errors. He told me no matter what my exhaust was, i would pass emissions in MA or NH with no problems.

In any case, good luck!

The tunes for such mods always deactivate those O2 sensors.

I got them from a guy off of a different forum who made them. Its not that they "Dont work", the concept is still there. For some reason i guess the company who did make them stopped when the S197's came out. All i can say is for $20 shipped to my door (I could of made them for $2 but I'm lazy) I have no codes.

I think that is what will throw a "not ready" status, which will show up on an OBD II scan. It is possible that the inspection procedure in some places might allow one "not ready" flag, but I would not count on that being the case generally.

That may have been just the timing of the S197's introduction.

I know that a few years ago there was a big court case over some of the earlier devices.

99-04 easy pass with the sensors off. My 99 passed for four years in a row with the predator tuner.... I have been looking for a way to pass my 07 before I go all out. I have a local dyno shop that said for $500 they can make mine pass with O/R pipe and LT'S BUT.... i cannot justify it. LT's DYNO tune for 1K + ......I am just going to do a O/R Pipe with stock headers and swap once a year at emissions time. Most shops will over look the cats for a small fee. Just need to know someone.
