Who has blown their engine with FI.
I have researched this a bit on here and havent really found a thread on the subject. I think it would be great for people to post what kind of FI they had and how the engine let go. Id like to make this informational so that people can see what u can do and what u cant do.

The engine/setup that came stock on my 2006 Saleen blew on the stock 4lbs of boost. A rod snapped in two places and chewed up the inside. When it went, the engine was only at about 2300 RPM under normal driving conditions. I attribute this damage more to high RPM's than the FI itself. I think the previous owner raced the car.

I was running a saleen blower on my 06 Mustang GT with 11lbs of boost. The engine didn't blow, but it got to where there was oil coming out of my intake and out around the sensors on my valve covers. I was told it needed a valve job.

Our motor is well built to handle boost @ certain levels. Roushs m90 still carrys fords warranty which really says something. But there is always risk. Imo don't go FI if you can't afford to rebuild if the sh$t hits the fan.

Yep. The Saleen supercharger has one "shortcut" in it that can be devastating. The aluminum brackets on the ends of the intercooler inside the blower are just spot welded on. I had one over time break off and get chewed up by the screws and there was aluminum everywhere! I had to spend a thousand bucks to have the blower shipped and fixed. I'm sure some metal got into my engine and thats what happened to my valves. If the damn brackets would have had a full weld on them, instead of spot welded none of this would have happened.
