Ok to drive 2 miles with mufflers removed?

Ok kinda embarrassing.

I got my stock mufflers removed with little effort on my 2k11 GT - but I am totally unable to get the new SVT mufflers on, those damn hangers are too hard to get.

I even removed the hangers brackets but that was no good either (Anybody know the torque specs for the brackets bolts?)

So is it ok to drive 2 miles to the muffler shop with them removed? I don't want to damage anything.

FYI it sounds great with no mufflers!

if you removed the brackets how is it hard to get it back on? and the trq is tighten till they feel tight to you and your done. also its not gonna hurt anything to drive it with no mufflers..basically same thing as muffler deletes people put on the cars

It wont hurt the engine but the intermediate pipes are just a hanging there with
no support. The clamps holding them on might be compromised.
Take it easy and maybe the pipes wont sag too much and contact
the top of the axle tubes.
Muffler bracket torque specs and
all other 2011 torque specs can be found HERE.

That is my fear too.

Passenger side stays up on its own, drivers side rests on a crossmember brace of some type as soon as muffler is removed.

I just sent a guy an offer of $100 cash to come to my house and do it and I waiting to hear back. Same goes for anybody here in NJ or close to Mahwah, NJ in NY.

No problem with driving no mufflers. I did that for a while when I changed my stock system.

your 10 mins away from me. but i am at work. i would use some spray grease on the muffler hangers, they should slide out.

I have work lights for night detailing that I use and $100 with your name on it if you come after work.

BUT getting the hangers to slide on is not the issue getting them to line up is. I could not even got the stock mufflers back on.
