Default Long tube headers for a v6?

Does anyone know where I can find some, also if the instilation will be problematic?

You need to be calling places like Brenspeed and American Muscle.
It sounds like (not trying to offend you), that you know little or nothing
about the subject. If that is the case you need to be talking on the phone
personally to shops and not just looking and ordering online.

I am not certain what companies make long tubes for the V6 either simply because
I have never looked.

I have no clue what you mean by the installation being problematic.
Most long tube installs require raising of the engine though so it is not
something that needs to be done by a complete novice.
You will also need a tune and many companies require a matching X or H pipe.

By problematic I mean, yes will I need a engine lift. And also yes I dont know too much about cars, but I m not an idiot I can change the oil and s*** like that. I have had a mustang for about 8 months, I am trying to learn more. So i dont just want to take the heads to a shop and let them put it on, I want to do it myself. I know if I get the shorty heads It will be an easy install, but the long tupes, I am worried about them conecting to the CAT.

^^^^

that explains it. I totally get where you are coming from dude, i was there at one point long ago. But i am just going to say that if you are trying to convince people you know how to work on cars dont do so my saying you can change the oil... that isnt proving much, you dont want any trolls man.

with that said...

I have done my entire exhaust and it isnt undoable but it is a complete pain in the ****.

Ok so for long tube installs they will require you to get the long tube headers (duh haha) and then their matching x or h pipe that will make everything come together... this is what that will look like

Now you can see long tubes going strait into an H pipe NO CATS

Now if you are if you are going to run cats which i think you are saying you are going to you will need not only the headers and X or H pipe but also a set of high flows with O2 sensor extensions like so...

You cannot use your stock cats because they have a curve to them even if you cut them and whatnot... trust me i have tried... you need a set of strait high flows...

this is what that will look like installed...

Now you can see the Long tubes flow into high flow cats and then into a matching X pipe...

they are not hard to find at all... you can try to do it a cheaper way and use a different X pipe or stock cats and you will fail... just being honest.

always here to help a stang nut!

Rolling that was a great little write up for him!

tdurham, remember you will need a tune too!
Let's say this though... I hope you have access to a lift
and not just jacks, or you are in for a world of hurt lol.

Damn guys thanks alot. You really are extremly helpfull. This is why mustangs are awesome cars, because of the people behind the wheel.

I decided to stay away from the long tube (taking you guys advice) but now I cant decide between BBK tuned length ceramic, or JBA natrual shorties. I called Americam Muscle and was told the BBK will require less matnaince (being ceramic) but the JBA is an easier install. What do you guys think?
