Default just got a 2013 rental

so my moms car is in the body shop and they gave us a red 2013 v6 mustang and guess what its raining outside

first impression compared to my 05 gt this car feels a heck of alot slower and i know most people here will disagree and say they keep up and i am sure they do but this car doesn't feel half as fast or have half as much torque feel as the gt it doesnt have the "FUN" factor. but still a great drive

2nd the car handles great the one i drove came pretty stock with the crappy eco tires but it still out handles the 05 gt's and the brakes on the car are alot better i was actually very impressed with them.

the main thing i disliked was the tranny i got the auto version (mom cant drive stick) and it sucked when put in s mode it doesnt give u full control and feels slow and crappy. a better way to explain, it makes the car feel very limited and doesnt let the engine do what it is supposed to do.

so to all people getting a 2013 v6 mustang if you want a lot of torque like i do this car is not for you, but if you want a smooth ride with a bit of go at times this car is perfect.

while i have this car if anyone has any questions i will try and answer just remember this car has no extras its a rental that is completely stock.

I read, the V6's power is more on the higher RPM side and the torque is lacking big time. I think the smaller gears in the V6 doesn't help either.
How does the weight of the car feel? I remember when I switched over from a 99 mustang to the 05, the 05 felt a lot heavier. The 05 has higher HP and Torque, which made the car feel quicker, but cornering was not as easy due to the weight.

the car feels a bit lighter through corners than my gt but im guessing thats because i have huge tires on my car not sure. But i gotta say when it comes down to braking and handling feels alot better than the 05

and your right the car has barley any torque up until 4500 rpm

What size tires you have on your GT?

I looked up 2005 Mustang GT and compared against the 2013 V6.

2005 GT weight:
Manual - 3,450 lbs.
Auto - 3,500

2013 V6 weight:
Coupe: 3,523 lbs
convertible: 3,652 lbs.

I am wondering if the revised handling and breaking makes the sixxer feel lighter, even though it is not. Interesting..........

my car is going to the shop to get the GT500/CS rear bumper cause a guy backed into my car. His insurance company owes me a rental so hopefully i can get a 2013 so i can test it out. I'm right there with you though man, even though it has good power, i don't think it'll keep up or be more fun to drive than my 06 GT.

Probably because you have a ridiculously wide tire on the front of your car! Those 275's are going to make turn in suck big time.

Your gt has 3.55 gears if it's manual, the v6 has what rear gears? I bet you feel the gear difference more than an actual lack of torque.

my gt is a manual and yea i mentioned that at the begging my wide tires affect my handling big time thats why i am changing them out monday
and i said before the auto tranny on the v6 makes the engine feel slow and limited

That makes perfect sense now.....

My next vehicle will be a GT or 03/04 Termi. I want that low end torque and V8 rumble! =-)
