BMW's especially on the lower end of the price scale have become nothing more than a status symbol. That was their mistake. Making them more available to the general public instead of keeping the quality high. BMW used to mean something but now the majority of BMW's on the road are douche drivers.

Especially if by "routine repairs" you mean all sorts of stuff that usually doesn't need replacing on "lesser" cars...
