Infinately. The rear end and chassis can be modified for stability, the engine can be modified with every single part it has (even the block) for performance, andthe car can be lightened. There's an infinite # of things that can be done. An '05 Mustang could even be modified enough to run at over 300 mph. There's really no limit.

Sure, in outer space. It takes power to overcome drag. A stock GT is maxed out at about 147-150 MPH. SC'd you may be looking at 160-170.

Of course, you can be part of the shallow gene pool like the guy that strapped a JATO to his car once...

Aren't those pretty inaccurate when it comes to measuring speed?

One GPS being accurate doesn't equate to all of them being accurate. And a GPS being accurate to 120 MPH also doesn't mean it will be accurate to 165mph.

Take your friends claims with a grain of salt.

So with enough engine mods and weight reduction the 05 could potentially reach light speed? You just might be on to something. You might want to patient this idea and sell it to NASA before someone else does!
