As weird as it is... Ford designed the car that way... it could have any number of reasons... my number one reason is exhaust note tuning, for does spend a lot of time doing that with these cars.

OK thanks for your replies about the tail pipe. Changing out the CAI today. Placed hood struts on Saturday 12/11. I would sure recommend that change to remove the rod. I used the Red line Elite and you can start raising the hood with your pinky finger and it will raise itself. Very steady. Took 30 minutes to install.
