Race Star Drag setup for DD's...can it be done?
I love the look of these 15" wheels on the s197. I would like a dailey driver setup with BF Goodrich radial T/A's for a classic muscle car look.
The backs are a snap with the 275/60/15 coming in a little bigger than stock, the fronts are the question with a 15x8 wheel.
I would thing the 225 or 235 70 series up front would work...need some input from the masses.
It would be true muscle if it could be pulled off right down to the raised white lettering on the tires.

I too would like to know if the 15x8 wheels would work in front. I just don't like the skinny 15x3.75 that they often sell for the fronts. The skinny wheels would be terrible for cornering.
By the way, here's their catalog. It shows the different sizes and offsets available.

They would work, if you don't mind the offset @25. From some of the owners pic's with 04 wheels (24-28mm), they give a wider stance and look good to me.
Here's what I got after a trip to the calculator:
235/55/17 stock: 27.17 dia
275/60/15 rear (brenspeed package): 27.99dia / 6.49 sidewall height
225/70/15 front: 27.4dia / 6.2 sidewall height
235/70/15 front: 27.95dia / 6.47 sidewall height
Both fronts are available in BF Goodrich T/A's.
This is one bad-*** look, just needs a more friendly setup for the front.

The plot thickens...
255/60/15 will come in at 27.04" with a 6.02" sidewall. Just under an inch smaller in diameter than the 275/60/15, which should help with the desired rake front to back.
After reviewing this next thread https://mustangforums.com/forum/2005...ls-please.html it would seem that this setup would be possible with a 25mm offset. I like the look with the lower offset as long as you stay away from the deep dish wheels...am I missing something stupid (quite possible)??? This would work, right?
Guru's advise please.
These are my fav's http://www.latemodelrestoration.com/...5-Back-Spacing ...and the tires are butt cheap to boot

Hey I just thought of something. I'll be away from my car for the next few days, but when I get a chance I'll see if one of my rear wheels clears the front caliper and report back here. From there all you'll need to know is if the tire of your choice will fit.

Sweet...I was gonna ask if you would do this for a check. If you can, get a pic or two for me from the front looking down the side to see how far the offset is pushing out the wheel. Look forward in the results, from everything I have read they clear. Got my fingers crossed, and btw...Bad-*** ride bro!
Long live the no-dub edition, and thanks agian.
