Default New here, posting for a friend

Hey all, im new here. Im a Powerstroke Diesel fanatic but have a friend who has a 2008 Mustang GT. She currently has a Magnaflow exhaust along with a cold air intake. She has about $1000 to spend and is looking for a little extra HP.

Now in the Diesel world, $1000 doesnt get you much, maybe an Exhaust, Intake and a power chip.

I was wondering if you guys could recommend to me the best bang for the buck for some noticeable HP increase. What kind of performance enhancers do you gas guys use?? Chips?? Injectors? Blowers? Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Ken

Well of course blowers will add plenty of power but not going to happen on a $1000 budget lol.

If she doesn't have a tuner/custom tune already that would be an easy way to pick up some HP. She could get a combination tuner and custom tunes from americanmuscle.com or brenspeed.com (both very reputable around here). That would add a good 20RWHP or more particularly if that current CAI isn't tuned for.

Other things would be to look into an exhaust setup, throw on some long tube headers and get a better flowing midpipe setup etc.

thanks PD. I will look into that and let her know. How much do custom tunes usually run? for us diesel guys, looking at anywhere from 300-500 dollars.

Also, they dont add HP or TQ but gears will also completely wake the car up performance wise.

tuner with a custom/email tune for starters.
with your budget, i would do gears, tuner with tune, and maybe throw in some UDP's and CMCV delete plates.

Custom tunes from either Brenspeed or AmericanMuscle are the preferred sources. Their tunes are out-matched only by a good dyno tune. Presently, your g/f's CAI isn't gaining her much more than 5 RWHP w/o a tune. Toss a good custom tune in and she'll be looking at 20-25 RWHP gain over stock plus less throttle lack and better shift points if she's automatic.
