2010 427R or 2011 GT?

lol ask this over on fn sweet and you will get a different answer. What are you going to do with the car? Are you going to roll stock? Are you going to mod the car? The 10 427r feels a lot faster than a stock 5.0 and is more fun to drive imho thanks to the instant power. it really depends. that said, roush cars are not great on the resale form what i hear. Banks see them as nothing but a gt. don't buy the roush thinking you will get more for it in the end. I like to mod my own stuff too so i'd be getting the 5.0 most likely. if you want to just buy and drive with no more money out, honestly i say 427r. It will handle better and is more fun to drive.
EDIT: also i never understand the folks that say take that $6k and put it into a blower like everyone just has that money there. when you are paying more for a car you are financing that not paying that money up front. it't not like buying a $30,000 car instead of a $40,000 car means you have $10,000 lying around to mod with right away. And what is $6000 add to a note $60 a month? it will take a REALLY long time to get to $6000 using the money you save on the payment. I wouldn't trade my 10 (which has the 427r blower and arguably better suspension) for a stock brembo 5.0 for an extra $6K.

I dont think Id go with a 5.0 right now. Let them get some kinks worked out then go forward with the purchase of a new 5.0. Look at the 05 and 06's. They were plagued with issues. Not big issues except for water leak but alot of issues. Keep that in mind if ur looking to buy a new 5.0 Im already hearing of tranny problems.

Very true, plus for a LOT less money you can put a tune and kick the boost up on the SC and put down great power. You won't have to spend a ton of money modding it since just about the whole car is modded already. So it really all depends on what you want to do with the car and how much money and time to want to invest when your talking about picking between the two.

WOW! Thanks for all the feedback and everyone taking the time to respond!! I'm going to test drive the '11 this evening. I've already driven the 427R and must say I really liked it. As for mods, if I go with an '11, I will most likely only go with a new exhaust (Roush axle backs) and possibly Ford Racing lowering springs, other than those two things, I will keep the car stock. Thanks again.

427R. I've driven both and the 427R feels so much faster because the power comes on so much earlier. Not sure about the 1/4 mile times.....but the butt meter says 427R. Plus you get all those suspension goodies.
