Yeah I agree 100%. It always struck me funny even as a kid when I started out driving that everyone was worried about being distracted by the radio buttons, but turning your head COMPLETELY AWAY FROM THE ROAD was standard operating procedure...

And to think, they still teach the kids in Driver's Ed to do that.
As soon as I got my daughter a car, I slapped those blind spot mirrors on and taught her how to drive using your side mirrors, especially the blind spot ones.

I've thought about just picking up a set of 2011 side mirrors and trying to retrofit them, but noticed it did involve drilling some new holes. When I drove a 2011 a couple months ago though, I absolutely loved the new mirrors.

Maybe I'll try this as a starting point, see how I like it and if not either grab some of the old school $3 ones at autozone or bite the bullet and try to retrofit some 2011's.

I remember seeing a writeup someone did where they retrofitted the newer 2010+ side mirrors (housings, motors, glass, etc.) onto their 05-09 Mustang... This might be a better option then trying to retrofit the mirror itself...

Don

Edited to add that I found the thread here...

Thanks for the link BigD! If I decide to go the retrofit route, this is what I will follow.
