First Upgrade-Borla or Magnaflow?
#12
I like my Borla Standard rear exhaust. I have the JBA shorty headers and the combination is heaven for sound. It's a deeper and a bit louder than stock, but real tight. Does not sound canny or cheezy like so many high school exhaust systems. Erik

I had the Magnaflow Magnapacks (louder version) on my 06.
Even the magnapacks were weaker in sound than the Borlas my buddy had.
To me they were BARELY over stock. I was disappointed from the start.
I yanked them two weeks later, got some SLP loudmouths, and put the Magna's up for sale.
Oh also I had the cat back system which replaced the stock pipes and were supposed to add even more volume to the magnapacks. So much for that...
I think Magnaflow is a good company but at the same time I think
if you want to noticeably change your volume you need to go at least with the Borlas.
You will not notice a change in sound with the Magna's after only a couple of days.
I actually went with SLP loudmouths when I had stock pipes the rest of the way. They sounded AWESOME with an otherwise stock setup.
When I had my cams, long tubes, and high flow catted x put in the loudmouths were just WAY too much.
I could not drive over 1.5RPMs down the road without screwing with the neighborhood. Plus it caused such a vibration in my dash it was like I had a bee hive in there somewhere. I AM NOT exaggerating at ALL.
If I were you I would go with either Borlas, Boomtubes, or SLP loudmouths. (If they are making them for the '11 year models.)
