when I lived in NC, I had the same problem... no garage, and no access to a spot to wash the car. Luckily, there was a DIY car wash up the street. Always kept a bucket, wash mitt, & an Absorber in the trunk. I'd always go during off hours (nighttime, usually), since they discourage bucket washing- but I did it anyways. Yea, I'd burn a minute or two filling up the bucket with water/soap, then soak down the car good, using the pressurized water (from a few feet away) to get as much crud as possible off of the car. Then I'd go over it again with the bucket & mitt, and finally burn another set of quarters rinsing it off. If no one else was there, I'd go ahead & dry it in the bay (better lighting), otherwise, I'd pull out by the vacuums. For winter time... you might want to think about getting a pair of insulated rubber gloves... when it's near/below freezing, that cold air is tough on the hands!

Back when I was young(er) I had a new Camaro and no garage. Living in PA, it was filthy from salt by the time I got it home from the dealership.

I'd fill one of those 5 gallon buckets that had a lid with lukewarm, soapy water and take that in the car to the high pressure wash. I'd rinse off as much crud as possible with the high pressure, then use the 5 gallon bucket for the wash, then rinse with the high pressure wash. Depending on the ambient temps, I'd either dry the car off there at the high pressure place or just let it freeze (don't fool with mother nature!).

Be proactive and spray some lube in your key lock cylinders.
