Thinking about buying a new 2011 Mustang Gt
#13
Right now i have a 2005 Infiniti G35 and im thinking about selling/trading in for a 2011 Mustang GT. Good idea? and also would you think going with the premium is worth the extra money? The leather seats arent that big of a deal to me. and do you think the brembo brakes/ 3.73 LIMITED SLIP REAR AXLE is worth it?
I'd definitely go for the Brembos/3.73s and leather

I came from '04 and '08 G35 sedans. The only things I miss from my '08 G are the sport seats with adjustable side bolsters, the four doors, and the design of the exterior and interior (I think the latest Infiniti aesthetics are the best around).
However, believe it or not, the 2011 Mustang GT I've had since July is quieter on the highway, has fewer buzzes and rattles, and rides firm but without harshness (especially at highway speeds).
As my daily driver, the Mustang's 400+ hp V-8, 6MT, and 3.73 gearing get almost identical MPG to the G's 306 hp V-6 (meaning, pretty abysmal--about 14 city, 20 highway). But, I can't force myself to putter between stops with fun cars like the G and the Mustang. My mom drove my Mustang for short trip the other day and got 26 mpg.
Compared to an '05 G (I had an '04)---I would put the Mustang premium's interior on par, if not a little better. Compared to an '07+ G, you'll give some up in looks and materials quality, but not much.
The premium is worth it in my mind for the much, much better steering wheel, Sync (which is awesome), and upgraded dash trim. The MyColor is cool, but I wouldn't have paid for it as a separate option.

yes i mean i would like the premium package especially the leather and better dash but i can get the base gt for about 26 and under 30 out the door. It would be about 3 grand or so more for the premium.. which kinda puts it out of my price range

You could always get the base and add what you want later on. That's kind of what I did with mine, I'm swapping the cloth out for leather later this week

is this a car you need tomorrow? if not, then just save up the extra money. I'm not a fan of sacrificing what I want in a car, considering how much I typically drive.

i went in thinking i would try to get out as cheap as possible on a 2011 5.0. all i thought i cared about was the motor and tranny - the rest was lagniappe. but then i said, fudge it, gimme some creature comforts, too, so i went with the premium. i'm very glad i did. i love the leather, the shaker 500 is great but the best part is the sync - that thing is the sh_t. i can't see living without it now that i've had it for 6000 miles. hands free calling, automatic synchronizing with my contacts with the ability to use voice recognition for making calls. it also indexes my zune mp3 player so if i say "play track 'sabbath bloody sabbath' " it plays 'sabbath bloody sabbath'. pretty freaking cool imo.
