Default 2010 Map Lights Wont Turn Off!

Hey guys, my 2010's map lights suddenly wont turn off.

So from park, it'll be off, but once I unlock my car, the lights say on, even while im driving! haha, nothing will turn it off while driving, not even manually pressing the light power buttons.

Even during the day when my headlights switch is to the left (off position) it'll be on while Im driving.

It only turns off when I park the car and lock it. And even then it takes an unusual long time to turn off.

I guess it's the fuse, but I dont have a diagram of the 2010 fusebox to know which to look for.

Any ideas?

There is a roller switch next to the light switch that controls the dimming of the dash lights....it also has a position to click on the interior lights.

What Pete said. Roll the dimming control downward a smidge and the map lights will turn off. In the up-most position they stay on as you are describing.

I had this same "problem" on my 5.0 lol, I took it into the dealer along with a small door hinge issue and it was humorous because they couldn't figure out the light thing and were planning on rewiring it when my original dealer called me and told me how to fix it.

Yep...easy fix. I follow the rules from my uncle on electronics....push and twist all the buttons so you are not embarrassed when it won't work. He had issues when computers became everyday items. If he was around now, it would be a laugh a min. with him and all the electronic gadgets.

haha, I did the exact same thing a few months ago, it drove me crazy enough that I took the bulbs out. Then I realized the stupidity... You're not alone! lol

Surprisingly, the Owners Manual will NOT spontaneously burst into flames when exposed to light or touched by the human hand.

"I have this really strange problem with my car. Every time I press the center of the steering wheel there's this really, really loud noise from the front of the car. Is this normal? What can it possibly be?"
