Default Looking for a 2010+ mustang, need opinions

I'm 18 right now and been wanting a mustang for a while. Originally I wanted a 65-66 mustang, but a decent condition one is $8k plus, then you have to repair rust, fix a lot of worn out parts, etc...

So I started thinking a spending a little more upfront on a car that's a lot newer makes more sense. I won't be doing this purchase for probably 2+ years, but I want to get an idea.

I would like something like this: http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...e&rdpage=thumb

...6 speed v6 coupe

I would really like a 5.0, but insurance will be high for it. I also like the idea of 305hp and 31mpg out of the v6...it's still not a v8, but 305hp with a 6 speed in a small car is more than enough for some fun street driving. What does anyone else think?

Sounds good. Work hard and be smart with your money in the meantime. I'm about 7 years older than you, and while that may seem like a lot, just goes to show you can accomplish a lot in a short amount of time if you stay focused.

Being smart with my money is what I'm good at...I just sold my 98 ranger and bought a piece of **** dodge ram (but it runs well) so I could throw some money in the bank.

Like everyone says.....work hard and stay focused.....avoid the idiots they'll bring you down.

I'm sure you will enjoy the V6 but, in 2 years time you will be looking and wanting probably 10 other cars by then. If your still into the Mustang by then...get it!!

Saving my money is the thing I have no problem with; handing it off to buy something I've saved for and wanted for a long time is still a problem. There a lot of things I want, but I just can't justify spending money on a lot of them, it took me 2 years to finally decide to buy a $300 gun that I could easily afford (not to sound like a snob).

I'm kind of wanting a 2010 4.6 or 2011 5.0 now. I like the 31mpg's from the 6 banger, but that 412hp (from the 5.0) and v8 sound is hard to pass up.
