I must admit when i first got my 07 i was bit dissappointed with the performance. Surely wasnt 300hp and it is not. Maybe 270hp from factory. There is some power after a cai and tune but its not like the car just goes up in smoke with power. Sure the shift points are better but this isnt a car that runs like a raped ape. U really need to spend a little money before u feel a big difference. Im talking a couple thousand dollars before u really notice a big hp gain and performance gain.

My dad said when he was growing up that him and most of his friends all had sports cars. Nothing for them to run through 3 tanks of gas in one night and go through tires once a month. Times sure have changed. I say good for him if hes paying for it. Then he should be able to do what he wants

It's just a hindsight thing, I suppose. Anyway, MUCH respect for that healthy and mature attitude, ikemikestang.
I got into tons trouble with an 88hp civic. The mentality of the driver is what matters. A lot of teenagers just don't know any better. Some do.

If your parents think you could handle the car then go for it. Just say NO to peer pressure. Lol
Seriously.

Here is the deal on young drivers and hot cars. Ok? Its all about how the kid is taught. If you are taught to respect the car and the power, its fine. I learned to drive on my dad's GT/CS and while I do have fun in my car and sometimes in his, its never near others and never anything extreme. I learned to respect the car and handle the power and I don't get into trouble. A stoner buddy of mine has a 94 Honda that barely starts and has almost lost his license on multiple occasions.
