Default possessed mustang

I have a 2005 mustang, its always ben maintained never had a problem with it, but tonight i ran into the store for like two minutes, come back try to turn the car on and it wouldnt start. it would turn over and all the electronics worked like lights, radio, etc.. but the magazine was scrolling the whole time. so I know it cant be the battery. it was almost like everything was being reset, if i took the key out the radio would turn on and reset to 12:00 and go to like 950 AM station. does anyone know why this is? or have any freakin clue what im talking about?

The earlier S197's, 05's and '06s in particular, were plagued with charging system issues (mainly a weak, easily degraded alternator and garbage OE MotorCrap battery) which tends to manifest issues as electrical gremlins. The other, worst case scenario is that you have the dreaded water leak issue (see the list of TSB's in the forum stickies) which reduces the SJB (Smart Junction Box) to a corroded playpen for more gremlins.

I would check the battery and its connections....no matter what you "think".....check it and know for sure. In my opinion, it is hard to move forward until the battery condition is confirmed.

a couple years ago I was out at a party and left the dome light on. I leave an hour later and she wouldn't start. The electronics were all working and I eventually got it to start but wouldn't stay running. Had it towed the next morning, took it to the shop and they told me a grounding wire had wiggled loose (party was out in the country complete with hills and bad pavement). Just a suggestion if you haven't found the issue yet.

As for the 6-cd changer cycling on its own, I am curious as to why that is happening, low batt power or not. It should not be doing that at all actually. Are you sure it is simply only your CD player that is jacked up? Maybe it's only that, and not the whole car, that is possessed.

You need a new battery (or the connections on your battery are corroded and need cleaned).

A battery that won't turn over the engine will still power most of the on-board electronics.
